Deborah
Myers Real Estate, Inc. is sponsoring Team Bryan McClain this Saturday and
Sunday, November 17 & 18, at the Circle R Ranch in Wimberley, Texas in the
Texas Teams Disc Golf Tournament. Texas Teams has been a
Texas Disc Golf tradition since 2000. Teams represent clubs or individual
courses and are comprised of players of varying skill levels. Players
compete for their team in head-to-head match play in nine-hole rounds.
Points, rather than strokes, are totaled from all of the team's rounds to
determine the winning team. No cash, no prizes. It’s all for team pride
and fun.
The two-day tournament at Circle R is much more than competitive disc
golf. It's a camping experience, a reunion, and a chance to see whose
community has the most skill-building and challenging course.
Good
luck to our players on Team Bryan McClain!!!

The 2007 Texas Team Championships were held this past
weekend in Wimberley Texas and your Team Bryan McClain finished in 3rd
place! That was quite an accomplishment considering it was San Antonio
and Bryan McClain’s first ever appearance. Team McClain bested most of
the approximately 300 other golfers and wowed spectators with their great
golf. We couldn’t have done so well without your support and the entire
team asked me to thank you. We are building something big with the San
Antonio Disc Club and it means a lot to have your support.
Hopefully you are satisfied with your contributions
to the team and the benefits of supporting San Antonio disc golf. We’ll
be hosting larger events in San Antonio soon which will give you
opportunities to reach an even bigger target audience in an even better
way. When that time comes, you’ll be first on our list to contact.
The
shirts came off looking really nice. We received several compliments and
everyone was jealous. One competitor said, “Wow! Those shirts are
awesome; I wish my team had shirts like that.”
The pink
cups from Deborah Myers Real Estate where a big hit during the after hours
socializing ;). You definitely helped us make a big splash. Also your
contribution helped pay for the T-shirt extras and printing which as I
mentioned above blew people away. Don’t be surprised if disc golfers
start calling and asking for houses near McClain Park, Live Oak Park, and
Universal City Parks.
Results
McClain came out of the gate smoking by defeating top
ranked Round Rock 1 in their first match of the day with 4 wins, 3 losses,
and 2 ties. This was Round Rock’s only defeat of day one.
Next Team Bryan McClain defeated little known
Ingleside in a tightly contested match with 4 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties.
In their third consecutive match of the day, without
a lunch break and with only Tunguska to power them on, McClain faced
another top ranked competitor, Team Crowley. This was McClain’s toughest
match and a precursor to the semifinals. McClain tied Crowley with 4
wins, 4 losses, and 1 tie.
In their last match of the day McClain dominated Twin
Parks Hill 5 wins, 3 losses, & 1 tie to win their Pool and advance to the
quarterfinals. This was amazing considering this pool was by far the
toughest and yielded three of the eight teams in the quarterfinals.
To start day two McClain was matched up against the
home course team, Team Hill Country. It looked like a great match up on
paper. Turns out Team Bryan McClain was too powerful, as they crushed
Team Hill Country 9 wins, 0 losses, 0 ties. It was only the second time
ever and the first time in the quarterfinals or later that a team has won
all nine matches in Texas Teams Championship history.
Next McClain faced Crowley again in the semifinals.
It was a tremendous competition with nearly every match going down to the
last hole. In the end, Team Bryan McClain was bested by Crowley 3 wins, 4
losses, 2 ties in their first defeat of the competition and a VERY
respectable third place finish in the Texas Teams Championships. □
